This painting was inspired by my love for the Whitsunday Islands and Whitsunday Coast of tropical North Queensland, Australia. The Whitsundays are at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, alive with colour and fun, bustling with activity and marine life. In March 2017, the area was struck by Severe Tropical Cyclone Debbie and suffered significant damage, so the Whitsundays have very much been on my mind lately and I wanted to paint a piece that embodied all of the good things about this most beautiful and special part of my country.
10% from the sale of my "Whitsundays" painting will be donated to Givit, an Australian not-for-profit organisation. Givit is working to purchase urgently needed items for people and communities affected by Cyclone Debbie. Where possible, these items will be purchased from businesses in the disaster-affected area to assist in the economic recovery of the region. Please help me to help the people of the Whitsundays recover from the damage caused by Cyclone Debbie through purchasing my painting.
