In painting "Summertime", my aim was to capture the very essence of Summer on canvas. It is a season which I love so much - it is my absolute favourite of all the seasons! Swimming in the ocean, steamy humid weather, stormy skies, green grass and trees, vivid coral and lavender sunsets, snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, brightly-coloured fashions in the stores, exploring nature...it's all in this painting, expressed in bold colour with energetic brushstrokes, alternated by thick layers of paint smeared, dripped, and scraped onto the canvas.
