SUMMER HOLIDAYS, 1988
I remember the summer of 1988 very well...the colours, the fashion, the days spent at the beach with my cousins, and the World Expo in Brisbane (Queensland) where I first saw Ken Done's artwork and became absolutely enamoured with art! I was 12 years old, almost 13, and in my first year of high school. Little did I know then, but it was to be a very pivotal point in my life. I just had to capture it on canvas! Note that there is a lot of gorgeous textured detail on this painting that doesn't show up in the large photo. Make sure you click on the close-up pictures of the details so you can get a better picture of how the painting looks in person. It is a truly stunning painting!
Original abstract painting by Karen M. Andersen. Acrylic on canvas, 75 x 100cm (30 x 40 inches).
Gallery wrapped canvas, signed in the bottom left corner, date and title written on the back. Comes varnished with the sides of the canvas painted in the same colours as the remainder of the artwork, completely ready to hang with hooks and wire attached at the back.
