I live in the subtropics on the Fraser Coast, in southeast Queensland, Australia. Our region is characterized by its greenery...rolling country bushland vistas, coastal estuaries and heathland, and cool Fraser Island rainforests. We are blessed with abundant seas of every shade of turquoise and blue imaginable, with freshwater lakes and streams, some so clear that they appear transparent. We have mild winters that don't last anywhere near the three months they are meant to, extremely brief spring and autumn periods, and long, hot, humid summers. It's a beautiful place in which to live. It inspires my artwork endlessly, in so many ways. I will always be drawn to paint the colours, landscapes, and forms of my home, as I have done with this painting.
